Garage Door Before & After in Tarzana, CA

We can describe a torsion spring replacement in exact wire gauge and coil count, but a photo shows the difference between a door that hasn’t been serviced since 2016 and one that closes flat, quiet, and sealed. Since 2015, we’ve documented more than 18,000 garage door jobs across Tarzana with the same habit: photograph what we found, photograph what we did, and send you both before you pay a dollar. Here’s what that looks like.

Torsion Spring Failure on a Tarzana Two-Car Door

Before and after torsion spring replacement on a two-car garage door in Tarzana showing the new spring installed above the door
Broken left torsion spring replaced with matched pair on a 16×7 steel door, Tarzana

The left torsion spring snapped at 4:30 on a Thursday, leaving the door cocked in the track with the full weight resting on one cable. We measured the old spring at 0.250-inch wire, 2-inch inside diameter, 33 coils, and installed a matched pair so both springs carry the same load. The tech photographed the broken coil before touching it, per Clause 4 of The Haven Standard, then verified the door balanced at the halfway point with the opener disconnected. Door cycles tested 10 times. Total visit: 90 minutes.

Wayne Dalton Door Off Its Track After a Cable Pop in Woodland Hills Corridor

Garage door cable reset and realigned on the track at a home near Tarzana
Passenger-side cable re-seated, rollers realigned, drum and bearing checked

The cable on the right side jumped the drum when the door hit a broom handle leaning inside the track. A previous fix had left the track flared outward near the floor, so we cold-set the track back to spec and reset both drum cables under equal tension before re-hanging the bottom bracket. The result is a door that rolled up the full travel without binding, confirmed with an opening force pull test. We photographed the drum set with the new seat line so future wear is measurable.

Genie Opener Swap to a LiftMaster 87504 with Battery Backup

New LiftMaster 87504 garage door opener with battery backup installed in Tarzana after replacing an older Genie unit
Old Genie screw-drive opener removed, new LiftMaster 87504 installed, safety sensors realigned

The existing Genie opener had a failing logic board and a trolley carriage that had scored the rail. Rather than throw parts at a 20-year-old unit, we installed a LiftMaster 87504 with a battery backup so the door still opens during a power cut. The wall console is now at height for the homeowner’s wheelchair, and the photo record includes the sensor alignment before we reinstalled the beam.

Broken Section Panel Replacement on an Amarr Heritage Door

Replacement middle section installed on an Amarr garage door in Tarzana
Middle section replaced after a parking mishap, springs re-balanced to new panel weight

The middle section took a truck bumper hit hard enough to crack the stile. We sourced the matching Amarr panel, swapped it in, and re-balanced the torsion springs because the new section weighs slightly less than the waterlogged original. The door closes evenly along the full width of the floor. No new paint needed: the panel shipped in the same factory color.

Emergency Weekend Call: Trolley Carriage Stripped on a Chamberlain Opener

Replaced trolley carriage on a Chamberlain garage door opener during a weekend emergency call in Tarzana
Stripped trolley carriage replaced, carriage re-timed, door re-engaged to opener

Saturday afternoon, the opener motor ran but the door wouldn’t move. The trolley carriage teeth had worn smooth against the rail. We replaced the carriage with the correct Chamberlain part, re-timed the limit switches, and re-engaged the door. The homeowner had video from their phone of the motor grinding – we watched it on arrival and found the exact failure in under 15 minutes. The door was back on the opener the same day.
